Skanwear are a rapidly expanding global manufacturer, and supplier, of Arc & Flame Protective Clothing & PPE. Our clients are among the most well-known brands around the globe. Whilst our global DC is based in Doncaster, UK, we have offices in Switzerland, USA and Australia.
- Position: IT Manager
- Location: Doncaster (Office Based)
- Reporting Line: Supply Chain & Operations Director (James Topps)
- Number of direct reports: 1 - 3 (plus third parties)
Scope and purpose of the role:
End-to-end accountability for IT strategy, change, operations, security, service and support.
Job Responsibilities
Leadership & Management
- Direct, lead, develop and motivate the IT team
- Provide technology and business leadership
- Build effective relationships with business colleagues, customers and suppliers
- Ensure clear communication to key stakeholders
- Formulate, manage, and track IT expenditure
Strategy
- Deliver and maintain an integrated IT strategy and roadmap
- Contribute to, and influence, the Skanwear business plan
Change
- Capture and shape business demand for IT solutions and changes
- Provide high-level requirements and designs for projects
- Design and select good quality IT solutions which deliver real business benefit
- Ensure delivery of IT projects on-time, with quality and within budget
- Resolve escalated issues, risks and conflicts within projects
- Deliver minor changes and manage software releases to existing systems
- Select, engage and manage of vendor supporting projects
- Transition all changes smoothly into operations and support
Operations, Security, Service & Support
- Deliver cost-effective operations to meet the needs of the business
- Identify and mitigate major risks to service and operations
- Manage and resolve Major Incidents and take action to prevent recurrence.
- Provide effective 2nd-line support and problem management
- Deliver information security policies, awareness, monitoring and protection
- Ensure robust change management to protect the production environment
- Maintain all necessary controls, documentation and ensure adherence to IT policies
- Manage costs, and reduce the like-for-like ongoing costs of IT
- Measure, report and improve operational KPIs
- Management vendors, commercially and operationally to drive improved performance and lower costs
- Ensure robust and cost-effective contracts with vendors

Essential
- Experienced, capable and confident IT leader
- Strong technology and infrastructure awareness and interest
- Track record of major and minor project planning and delivery
- Manages vendors to be effective and efficient

- Experience of working in mid-sized businesses
- Wholesale / retail experience
