DESIGN PROCESS

At SKANWEAR®, we design, develop, and deliver every garment entirely in-house. From the first concept to final production, each piece of arc flash and flame-resistant protective apparel reflects our design expertise, technical knowledge, and rigorous quality standards.

By keeping the entire process internal, we maintain full control over fit, functionality, and safety, ensuring every garment is truly built for the engineers who rely on it. This approach also allows us to innovate quickly and respond directly to real-world feedback, continuously improving our products for those on the frontlines.

Insights & Inspiration

We start by listening carefully — to engineers, HSE teams, and industry experts. Customer feedback and market research guide every decision, from garment features to practical design details like pockets, closures, and mobility.

Concept & Sketching

Our designers translate insights into creative concepts and initial sketches. Here, functionality meets style, forming the foundation for garments that are both practical and professional.

Prototyping & Technical Design

Concepts come to life through prototypes and technical packs. Patterns are created, technical drawings completed, and designs checked to ensure they meet safety and compliance standards.

Sampling & Testing

Samples are produced and undergo rigorous quality and fit checks. Engineers participate in wearer trials, providing feedback to ensure each garment performs in high-risk industrial environments.

Grading & Refinement

Once a design passes testing, we create graded size sets, verifying comfort, fit, and performance across all sizes. Adjustments are made to ensure every engineer receives the right fit.

Final Approval & Gold Seal

The Gold Seal sample represents SKANWEAR®’s highest standard of quality, safety, and style. Every garment is carefully reviewed to ensure it delivers unmatched protection before moving to production.

Production & Delivery

With design, testing, and approvals complete, garments move into full-scale production, ready to reach engineers worldwide — safe, reliable, and ready for the challenges of high-risk environments
